The architectural contracting office that does design build is located near San Antonio, Texas. The premise is on a sustainable hill country ranch that raises Beefmaster cattle and organic produce & hay.

This firm specializes in construction and green sustainable designs for commercial, industrial, educational, institutional and custom residential buildings. Because we build we know how buildings go together and our design documents are proof of this knowledge.
Green sustainable design of a building starts at the beginning of the design process. The buildings orientation and position upon the land for the benefit of natural occurring breezes and passive solar penetration and with the consideration to views and other site issues; along with the owner's program requirements are a complex puzzle. It sounds easy but the first part of the design process is multifaceted and the most important of all. If this part of the design process is hurried later there can be major repercussions. Once a building is erected on the site without thought to these vital sustainable site needs; then it becomes more of an issue on how to retrofit the building to minimize consumption of energy.
Once the location of the building has been determined then we can begin to choose the building systems and materials. These items can play an important role in the occupants health and happiness. Plenty of fresh clean air, natural sun light and materials low in VOC's help to generate a safe environment for families and employees alike. Then by adding optional systems for the generation of power like photovoltaic-solar panels, wind turbines and solar hot water systems along with rain water harvesting from the roof; the structure then begins to work with the seasons rather than against them. A partner in living a sustainable life rather than one that consumes energy and creates expensive utility bills that our children will pay for later. Important studies have shown that school children learn better in natural light and worker's have less sick days in a green environment, thus living green increases the green in our pockets by saving us sick days, doctor visits and by having low utility bills.
